This weekend, the NEW seven wonders of the world were named. One of them happens to be Mexico's Chichen Itza pyramid. A few years ago, I was fortunate to go to this beautiful place and actually climb the pyramid itself! The year after that adventure, the government made it illegal to climb at all. The following is a picture of Chichen Itza.
After I read an article about these Seven Wonders, I thought about how much they pale in comparison to the wonder and majesty of the Lord. They are beautiful, but not even close to the glory of our God. All of the "wonders" are man-made and are nothing compared to the mountains, oceans, bluffs, valleys, sunsets, lakes and forests of earth. THOSE are the real wonders of this world and those were fashioned by our King, not man. Also, if society thinks those are magnificent in stature and beauty, can you imagine if they really knew the LORD for all He is?!? His Son taking the penalty for us and imputing His righteousness as a free gift for His chosen is the real wonder... amazing!
Just a few thoughts about the current events of our world in relation to God.
Meditating on the Wonder of this fallen world,
Kate
